SPLAV interactive display case

Exhibitions / SPLAV interactive display case

About the project

3D scenes and a touch-console app for a display case of rocket-system scale models: behind each scale model is a screen showing the same vehicle, its purpose and a salvo.

The display case holds scale models of vehicles — the Tornado-G and Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems, an engineering remote minelaying system, the TOS-2 heavy flamethrower system and others. Behind each scale model is a screen showing the same vehicle as a 3D model on a field at night. In front of the case are sloping touch consoles.

We made the 3D scenes for the screens and the app for the consoles, supervised the installation and launched everything on site.

The task

The display case of scale models needed screens and consoles: to show each vehicle in action and let visitors choose for themselves which one to learn more about.

What we did

3D scenes on the screens

Each scale model has its own scene behind it: a field at night, forest on the horizon, searchlight beams and a model of the same vehicle that stands in the case. The model turns, text appears beside it under the heading “Purpose”, and a salvo is fired on screen.

A 3D model of the Tornado-G MLRS in camouflage on a dark field under a beam of light; the heading “Purpose” above, and to the left and right a list of targets: enemy troop formations, command posts, unarmoured vehicles, helicopters on landing pads
The “Purpose” scene for the Tornado-G: a model of the vehicle and the targets it is designed for
A 3D model of the TOS-1A heavy flamethrower system on a dark background inside a sight reticle; around it the buttons “Purpose”, “Combat operation”, “Munitions used”, and “Back” at the bottom

Touch consoles

Each console shows the vehicles in its section of the case, for example “Tornado-G MLRS” and the engineering remote minelaying system. The visitor chooses a vehicle and opens the details; the vehicle diagram has marked points that can be tapped.

3D models of the vehicles

The 3D models of the vehicles in the scenes are ours: we made them and built the background and foreground locations, plus a separate location for the munitions.

Installation and launch

In December 2025 our engineer supervised the installation and checked the equipment and software on site.

How it is built

The scenes run in real time on Unity: the vehicle models, the environment, the lighting and the launch animations.

The screens stand behind the scale models inside the case, the consoles on sloping illuminated stands in front of the glass.

Result

The display case was installed and launched in December 2025; on 30 December it was filmed in operation — the photos and video on this page.
