Touch screens, an interactive map and a stage show for NIAEP in 2012

Exhibitions / Touch screens, an interactive map and a stage show for NIAEP in 2012

About the project

The EONKOM catalogue and a forum navigator for the touch screens of the NIAEP stand, an interactive map on a video wall and an interactive stage show — 2012.

On 14–15 June 2012 Nizhny Novgorod hosted the 2nd International Scientific and Practical Forum “Life-cycle management of complex engineering facilities. Developing competitive construction technologies”. The organiser was the merged company OJSC NIAEP — CJSC ASE, a Rosatom enterprise.

Touch-screen software was made for the NIAEP stand at the forum. The same year, an interactive map on a video wall and an interactive stage show were made for NIAEP.

This is an early work by Artem Maznov, co-founder of 8vision, made before the studio was founded, under the HYPARXIS Interactive Systems brand. The video comes from the HYPARXIS archive on Vimeo.

EONKOM catalogue

An application about the Unified Industry Nomenclature Catalogue of Equipment and Materials for Nuclear Power Plants (EONKOM): a menu of 3D spheres, the growth of the catalogue in flask charts — the number of companies, templates, cards and cards with a 3D model from March 2011 to June 2012 — 3D models of equipment and a list of partners.

Forum navigator

The second screen showed the exhibition plan with participants by pavilion and stand, the programme and participants’ materials. A visitor could send a chosen material to their own email, typing the address on an on-screen keyboard.

Interactive map

A curved touch video wall with a world map: NIAEP and ASE sites — the Tianwan nuclear power plant in China, the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran, the Nizhny Novgorod nuclear power plant, the Yuzhnouralskaya state district power plant — with photographs and specifications, and the sections “History of NIAEP”, “History of ASE”, “NIAEP + ASE”, “VVER-1000”, “Ecology and nuclear power”. The video does not say at which event the wall was shown.

Stage show

A projection on the stage screen with interactive elements: during a talk, construction management diagrams build up on the screen — Construction Management Portal, the construction schedule, cost estimates — and in the final number dancers on stage interact with the projection. On Vimeo the video is titled “NIAEP Holo Interactive Screen Rosatom 2012”.
