About the project
Four applications for the VK stand at SPIEF 2023: “VK Business” touch panels, the “VK Ecosystem” presentation, a music test and backgrounds for shooting clips.
On 14–17 June 2023 Expoforum hosted the 26th St Petersburg International Economic Forum. VK presented its 300 m² “Meeting Point” stand there; it was built by a communications agency.
We made software for four zones of the stand: an application for two touch panels with VK Business case studies, an interactive presentation of VK services, a test matching musical tastes with those of stars for VK Music, and backgrounds output to the LED screen in the VK Clips zone.

The task
Each zone needed its own interactive: in VK Business visitors browse case studies themselves, in the “Ecosystem” they pick a VK service and learn about it, in VK Music they take a test, and in VK Clips they shoot a clip against a large screen.
The software had to be installed and configured on the client’s equipment by 12 June 2023, and monitored remotely during the forum, 14–17 June.
What we did
“VK Business”
An application for two vertical touch panels with success stories of VK Business clients. While no one is at the panel, it plays a background animation — the “Cases and solutions” start screen with the hint “Touch the screen to learn more”.
“VK Ecosystem”
An interactive presentation of VK services on a vertical touch screen. The main screen shows service icons and the hint “Tap an icon to choose”. The services include VK Play, Dzen, RuStore, Marusya, VK Video, “Communities”, “Social projects”, “Bloggers” and others. A touch opens a section on the chosen service.
“VK Music” test
A visitor takes the test on a tablet by the LED wall. One of the questions is “Which themes in songs move you most?”, with answers such as “Home town”, “Life’s hardships” and “Music says it better than words”. At the end the test names the artists whose musical taste matches the visitor’s — Sergey Zhukov, Philipp Kirkorov and others — and they appear on the zone’s large screen.
“VK Clips”
In this zone visitors shot clips against the LED screen. Our software output backgrounds and videos to the screen, and they were switched from a tablet.
How it is built
“VK Business” — two vertical touch panels in the wall of the VK Business zone. “VK Ecosystem” — a vertical touch screen built into a curved wall with 3D icons of VK services. The “VK Music” test — a tablet on a stand in front of the LED wall. “VK Clips” — an LED screen in the corner of the zone and a tablet for switching backgrounds; the shooting spot is marked on the floor.
The screens, LED walls and tablets belonged to the client: the software was handed over on its equipment.
Result
The applications ran on the stand during the forum, 14–17 June 2023; the client accepted the work, including the support, under a signed certificate on 21 June 2023 with no complaints. According to REN TV, singer and blogger Valya Karnaval recorded a clip “on a giant screen” in the VK Clips zone.
