About the project
3D presentations of the MC-21-310 and SSJ-NEW aircraft for the Irkut Corporation stand at NAIS 2023: a transparent screen on a plinth and screens in columns.
On 7–8 February 2023 the 10th National Civil Aviation Infrastructure Exhibition, NAIS, was held at Crocus Expo. On the Irkut Corporation stand, the United Aircraft Corporation for the first time presented a joint display of its civil division, “UAC — Civil Aircraft”: the MC-21, SSJ-NEW, Il-114-300 and Tu-214.
For the stand we made 3D presentations of two aircraft — the medium-haul MC-21-310 and the regional SSJ-NEW — and the software to show them.

The task
In three weeks — from 16 January to 6 February 2023 — create an interactive presentation of the MC-21 and SSJ-NEW aircraft, and the software for it, for the Irkut Corporation stand at NAIS 2023. Everything had to be working by the exhibition's opening on 7 February.
What we did
MC-21-310
A 3D model of the aircraft on a dark background; the sections follow one another, each with a large heading and infographics: “Medium-haul aircraft” — the aircraft head-on on a taxiway; “Dimensions” — length 42.25 m, height 11.45 m; “Ecology: low emissions and noise” — NOx and CO₂ emission scales and a noise curve; “Flight range 5100 km” — a flight from Moscow to Yakutsk on a map of Russia; “Maximum passenger capacity” — a cutaway cabin, 211 seats; “PD-14 engine”; “Composite wing” — the wing structure highlighted; “Import substitution” — Russian components in the airframe.
SSJ-NEW
A presentation in the same style: the intro “Regional aircraft”; “Dimensions” — length 29.94 m, height 10.28 m; “Ecology: low emissions and noise” — view from below, NOx and CO₂ scales, noise curve; “Maximum passenger capacity” — cutaway cabin, 103 seats.
Version for the transparent screen
The screen background is transparent, so the model is seen directly against the stand and the guests behind the glass, with streams of light around the aircraft. The transparent screen showed the intros “MC-21-310. Medium-haul aircraft” and “SSJ-NEW. Regional aircraft”, the MC-21 section “PD-14 engine”, and the SSJ-NEW sections “Dimensions” and “Maximum passenger capacity”.
How it is built
The presentations were made in 4K resolution, 3840×2160.
The transparent screen stands on its own plinth; the regular screens are built into columns with three-dimensional “MC-21” and “SSJ-NEW” lettering.
A unified style for both aircraft: a dark background, white headings, a dotted ornament, turquoise and purple lighting.
Result
The work was delivered on 6 February 2023, the day before the opening. NAIS 2023 ran on 7–8 February; at the exhibition both presentations played on the transparent screen, and the MC-21 one also on a screen in a column.
