Interactive laser harp at an event

Events / Interactive laser harp at an event

About the project

A laser harp at a party: green beams instead of strings, which the musician blocks with his palm to produce sound.

At a party stood a laser harp: a wooden frame with green laser beams rising from its base. A musician in headphones blocks the beams with his palms — that is how he plays. On Vimeo the harp is described as an instrument for interactive installations and musical performances, with 100 mW green lasers.

The video does not say what the event was; it was posted on Vimeo in April 2011.

This is early work by Artem Maznov, co-founder of 8vision, made before the studio was founded, under the HYPARXIS Interactive Systems brand. The video comes from the HYPARXIS archive on Vimeo.
