Gazprombank's interactive showcase at SPIEF 2023
About the project
Software for a showcase with transparent touch screens on the Gazprombank stand at SPIEF 2023: a guest touches the glass and sees the Russian-made components of the bank's payment system.
On 14–17 June 2023 the 26th St Petersburg International Economic Forum was held at Expoforum. There Gazprombank presented a card payment processing system built from Russian components: from a computing platform on Elbrus processors and the Alt operating system to cryptographic hardware and a Russian-made ATM. For this the bank's stand had a “Made in Russia” zone: an ATM with a showcase next to it holding the system's “insides”.
We made the software for this showcase. The exhibits sit under glass, and the glass is two transparent touch screens: a guest selects an exhibit, sees it through the screen and reads about it.

The task
There are four exhibits under the showcase glass. Guests had to be able to choose which one to learn about, and the exhibit and its story had to be visible together: in standby mode the exhibits are hidden, and after a touch the glass above the selected exhibit becomes transparent and information appears on it. The design follows a microchip style. The software had to be handed over on the client's equipment by 12 June 2023, two days before the forum opened.
What we did
Choosing an exhibit
The two screens show four panels with “learn more” buttons: “ATM control module”, “Payment service”, “Computing system based on the Elbrus-8SV microprocessor platform” and “Cryptographic module”.
Exhibit record
A touch opens the manufacturer's card. For MCST, for example, it reads “Elbrus. Computing platform based on Elbrus-8SV microprocessors” and gives the number of the certificate confirming production in Russia. Below it are the tabs “About the company”, “Description”, “Capabilities” and “Processor”, and a “Software solutions” row: “Alt Linux OS”, “SmartVista”, “Synergy-DB DBMS”. Each opens its own reference note, for example on BPC's SmartVista authorisation and transaction platform. The “Back” button returns to the selection.
Transparent glass
When a guest selects an exhibit, the screen above it brightens and becomes transparent, revealing the unit itself behind the glass — for example, the BFS module marked “Made in Russia”.
How it is built
The showcase is a sloping case with two transparent touch screens in portrait orientation, with the exhibits beneath them. The screens and the showcase were the client's; we supplied the software.
Design: printed circuit board traces, green panels, screen transitions as a “pixel mosaic”.
The product texts were provided by the client.
Under the contract, the software was handed over on the client's equipment, including commissioning, and during the forum, on 14–17 June 2023, we supported it remotely.
Result
The showcase ran on the Gazprombank stand from the first day of the forum: our recordings of it in operation were made on 14 June 2023. eKassir, the bank's ATM partner, wrote in its review of the stand that at the showcase forum visitors could examine the server units and the “brain” of a Russian-made ATM.
