Updating the applications of the “Special military operation. Defenders of the Fatherland” exhibition at the Victory Museum

About the project
The second stage of our work for the “Special military operation. Defenders of the Fatherland” exhibition at the Victory Museum: the “Serving the Fatherland” section with “Avenue of glory” and “Volunteering”, and updates to three more installations.
The “Special military operation. Defenders of the Fatherland” exhibition opened on the third floor of the main building of the Victory Museum in September 2025. For it we made eight applications — for touch screens, showcase screens and projections — and an administrator panel.
In March 2026 we updated four of the exhibition's installations. The two touch screens of the “Voice of the front” section became “Serving the Fatherland”: they now carry the “Avenue of glory” with Heroes of the Russian Federation, and “Volunteering”. “Operation Z” gained a “Zavetam Verny” section with an idle-screen film about the events in Ukraine in 2014–2022, and the names in “Chronicle of feats” and “Heroes Z” were brought in line with the names of the exhibition sections. The work ran from 11 to 20 March.

The task
Under the technical specification, the old content of four installations had to be replaced with new content, and the names on the screens brought in line with the names of the exhibition sections. For two installations — “Serving the Fatherland” and “Operation Z” — this meant new versions of the software; for the other two, new content and captions. The materials — videos, texts, descriptions of the patches and organisations — were provided by the client. The deadline was ten days, including commissioning.
What we did
“Serving the Fatherland”
Formerly “Voice of the front”: two touch screens which, in standby, show the names of the two sections.
On the left is “Avenue of glory. Heroes of the Russian Federation”: all the Heroes of Russia from the “Heroes Z” section have been moved here, with search by surname and a filter.
On the right is “Volunteering”, with four sections: “Videos”, “Poems and songs”, “Volunteer organisations” and “About volunteers of the special military operation”. “Videos” has clips about weaving nets, making candles, drones, collecting and sending supplies to the special military operation zone, and the half-hour film “With human hands and feet”. “Volunteer organisations” has descriptions of the organisations and of their patches, which hang on the panels on either side of the section.
“Operation Z”
The section has two blocks — “Parallels” and “Zavetam Verny”. In standby, a film about the events in Ukraine from 2014 to 2022 plays with the caption “Preconditions”; touching the screen opens “Zavetam Verny”.
“Chronicle of feats” and “Heroes Z”
The installation that was called “Chronicle and Map” in the technical specification is now called “Chronicle of feats”, like the section in the hall; on its touch screens “War correspondents” has been replaced by “Chronicles”. The name “Heroes and Awards” has been replaced by “Heroes Z” — again to match the section in the hall.
Commissioning
Our technical specialist supported the commissioning remotely.
How it is built
The updated software runs on the screens already installed in the hall — we did not supply any hardware.
“Serving the Fatherland” and “Operation Z” were handed over to the client as two programs together with the source materials.
The interfaces follow the style of the first stage: khaki and camouflage, the St George ribbon, the star; on-screen prompts such as “tap a card to select”.
Result
Work on all four installations was handed over on 20 March 2026 and accepted without comments.
