Information terminal for the Yasenevo district

Digital / Information terminal for the Yasenevo district

About the project

Concept, interfaces and app for a touch-screen terminal for Yasenevo residents: a district map, a board of honour, answers to frequently asked questions and the events listings of the state institution Atlant.

The state institution Atlant is the “My Leisure Centre” network of Moscow's South-Western Administrative District: 27 libraries, 7 flagship centres and 12 sports and leisure centres. We proposed information terminals for residents: the first is a pilot in the Yasenevo district, to be followed by a network across the whole administrative district.

We prepared the terminal concept, interfaces for its two parts and an app for the district module. The shared part shows Atlant's content — news, events listings, clubs; it is designed to draw on our AIS Spektr, where the institution manages its venues, studios, listings and news. The district module is about Yasenevo itself: places, people, answers to residents' questions, contacts.

The task

Residents needed a clear offline channel: everything about Atlant's events, classes and services in one place, with no registration or personal accounts. The terminal had to be usable even by people who are not used to gadgets. Tickets had to be paid for and printed on the spot. The solution had to carry over to other districts of the South-Western Administrative District without rework, with each district getting its own module and its own character.

What we did

Shared part: “Atlant Info”

A home screen with a guide, the Wise Owl, and the sections: news, listings, “Moscow Longevity”, clubs and studios, institution contacts, and a version for the visually impaired. In the listings, visitors choose a seat in the hall by price, pay for the ticket by card, and print it on the spot or receive it by email.

Yasenevo district module

The greeting “Welcome to Yasenevo, the true pearl of Moscow” with the guide Pearl, and four sections.

“District locations” — a three-dimensional illustrated map of Yasenevo with markers; tapping a marker opens a card for the place with photos and a description.

“Board of honour” — residents, heroes of the special military operation and district workers, with search by name and a profile with the tabs “Biography”, “Awards” and “Achievements”.

“Frequently asked questions” — a courtyard scene where tapping an object opens a question about it: “How do I put up a barrier?”, “What do I do about a pothole in the road?”.

“Contacts” — addresses, phone numbers, office hours and a directions map.

District guides

Characters inspired by the coats of arms: Pearl for Yasenevo, Zyuzya for Zyuzino, Little Horse for Konkovo, Ancient Snail for Akademichesky, Guardian of the Golden Gate for Yuzhnoye Butovo. For Zyuzino, the same screens have been built with its own character and map.

Yasenevo module app

Version 0.1.0: a greeting, a menu, a map with five markers — the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, the Yasenevo Estate, Yasenevo Forest Park, the Park of the 30th Anniversary of the District, Novoyasenevsky Prospekt — a board of honour with filters and search, questions by topic (pavements, cleaning, lighting, landscaping) and contacts. It runs in a browser, as a desktop program and on a vertical touch panel.

The concept also included other sections — voting, quizzes on the district's history, “All together”, the history of the district, local self-government; they have not yet made it into the screen mock-ups or the app.

How it is built

As designed, the terminal is a floor-standing kiosk with a vertical touch screen, a bank card payment module and a ticket printer.

The interface is laid out for a vertical 1080×1920 screen and scales entirely to the window size. The desktop version is built on Electron and updates itself.

The district module is designed for our Municipal Navigator system: the administration marks objects on the district map and fills in the board of honour, the questions and the contacts, and the system has an open API for the terminals.

The shared part is designed around Atlant's content from AIS Spektr: news, listings and clubs are meant to update on the terminal as they change in the system.

Result

By mid-April 2026 the concept and interfaces of the shared part and the Yasenevo module were ready, as was a version for Zyuzino; in early August 2026 came version 0.1.0 of the Yasenevo module app.
