Virtual fitting room in a Holocoobe holographic cube
Digital / Virtual fitting room in a Holocoobe holographic cube
About the project
An interactive Holocoobe cube in a sports shop: a sales assistant holds up a garment, and the 3D model inside the cube appears wearing it.
An interactive Holocoobe cube was installed in a sports shop — a display case with a 3D model inside and a camera on top. A sales assistant holds a garment from the rail up to the cube — shorts, trousers, a jacket — and the model in the cube appears wearing it: a fitting without a fitting room.
The name of the shop is not visible in the video. It was posted on Vimeo in May 2011 with the caption “cube demo”, so it may have been an in-store demonstration rather than a permanent installation.
This is early work by Artem Maznov, co-founder of 8vision, made before the studio was founded, under the HYPARXIS Interactive Systems brand. The video comes from the HYPARXIS archive on Vimeo.

How it works
The sales assistant takes a garment off the rail and holds it up to the cube, and the model inside changes outfit: red shorts, blue trousers, a light-coloured jacket. There are female and male models. A camera sits above the cube.
