Gesture-controlled racing game for the LUKOIL stand
Exhibitions / Gesture-controlled racing game for the LUKOIL stand
About the project
A 3D racing game for a video wall on the LUKOIL stand: the guest drives a racing car in the company’s colours with hand movements, without a controller or a steering wheel.
We made the game for a LUKOIL exhibition stand. On a video wall of nine screens, a racing car in LUKOIL livery drives round a track, and the guest controls it with gestures, standing on a floor marker in front of the screen.
A video about the game was published in January 2017.

What we did
The track and the LUKOIL filling station
A 3D track with red and white kerbs and LUKOIL billboards. On it is a LUKOIL filling station with pumps, a mini-market and posters for Euro-5 and ECTO fuel.
Gesture control
The player stands on the red marker in front of the video wall and steers the car with hand movements; a sensor under the screen reads the gestures.
Physics, cameras and results
Realistic car physics, cinematic camera switching and post-effects. At the end of a run, a “Your result” screen shows the distance covered in kilometres and the best result.
How it is built
A video wall of nine screens, three by three; beneath it, a motion sensor, and on the floor, a marker for the player. The surroundings, the car and the filling station are all in 3D.
Result
The game ran on the LUKOIL stand — in our video, guests play at the video wall, with frames from the game between the runs.
