About the project
The “AR Lakhta” app for the display of a model of the Lakhta Center complex with its three skyscrapers — in the Gazprom pavilion at the “Russia” International Exhibition and Forum at VDNKh, 2023.
The “Russia” International Exhibition and Forum opened at VDNKh on 4 November 2023 and ran until 8 July 2024. The Gazprom pavilion displayed a model of the Lakhta Center complex in St Petersburg: the completed 462-metre tower and two planned ones — 555 and 703 metres.
We developed the “AR Lakhta” app for this display.

The task
The client needed the “AR Lakhta” app for the model display at the exhibition. The development contract was signed on 29 September 2023 and the exhibition opened on 4 November — just over five weeks from contract to opening.
What we did
The “AR Lakhta” app
We developed the app under a contract dated 29 September 2023. On the opening day of the exhibition, a tablet showing the “Lakhta Center” splash screen stood by the model on a transparent acrylic stand.
How it is built
The model: three three-dimensional towers on a glowing podium, surrounded by the buildings of the complex and the marina.
The top of the podium is a map of the complex grounds with the shoreline, the glowing water of the bay and the marina piers; the sides are screens showing underwater video: a whale, a shoal of fish, open water.
The tablet is mounted on a transparent acrylic lectern stand in front of the model, tilted towards the visitor.
Result
The model was on display from the first day of the exhibition — 4 November 2023. According to VDNKh, more than 18.5 million people visited the “Russia” International Exhibition and Forum over eight months.
